I thought he was super cute but he intimidated the hell out of me. My sophomore year, we started working together. I didn&#8217;t know him real well still, but there was something about him that made me want to be his friend (or more?). I saw him as one of the &#8220;cool kids&#8221; (although also a genuinely nice guy) and developed a major crush, but knew it would never be. His intramural softball team recruited me and when we started playing together, we&#8217;d always warm up together and I&#8217;d throw as hard as I could, trying to impress him.  I may not have been the prettiest girl he knew, but I was bound and determined to show him that I was the best player that he&#8217;d seen. That season ended and we saw each other occasionally, and when Spring hit I went to some of his baseball games to see him pitch (and maybe oogle his butt in tight baseball pants). He graduated that Spring and I didn&#8217;t see him for a year, but every once in awhile something would pop up on Facebook and I&#8217;d again long to be close to him. I couldn&#8217;t help but feel that connection, one that I always felt (but we were both perpetually in other relationships). This fall I went through a bad breakup. He saw my pathetic rambling on twitter and took pity, texting me to tell me he was there if I wanted to talk (I always knew he was a nice guy). It wasn&#8217;t in a sleezy way, he just wanted to be a friend. And finally, after three years of being sorta friends, we were finally actually friends. We got to know each other and we got close. We texted for hours every day and found out that we had, well, everything in common. He was everything I always thought he was, and more.
